While Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion can bring the comfort of the Eucharist to the homebound and hospitalized, only a priest can impart the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.
Parishioners who have been diagnosed with a serious illness or who are scheduled to undergo surgery can request the Anointing of the Sick. Parishioners can be anointed during Mass, in the sacristy or rectory, or a priest can visit parishioners in the home or the hospital to impart the sacrament. Please call the rectory during office hours to arrange for the Anointing of the Sick in these circumstances.
In case of a hospital emergency, all local hospitals have a chaplain on call to be readily available to the sick and their families. In case of emergency at home, please call the rectory at any time.
