Baptism of Infants

Baptism Whitestone, New York

As you prepare for the Baptism of your child here at Saint Luke please be assured of our prayers and support. We are so pleased to share this special event with you as we welcome
your child to God’s family, the church.

Your cooperation with the preparation program is greatly appreciated. As part of that preparation it is required to have a copy of your child’s Birth Certificate before the Baptism Ceremony as required by the Diocese.

No Baptism can take place until the church receives a copy of the Birth Certificate.

This is most important. As a result please be aware that your date for Baptism is NOT confirmed until the rectory office receives the Birth Certificate.

Parents must attend a Baptism Preparation Class for their first and second child only. Godparents are welcome and encouraged to attend. The class is conducted in the Pastoral Center on the third Monday of each month beginning at 7:30pm. The class is mandatory for both parents. The date of the Baptism is not confirmed until this requirement is fulfilled. The Baptismal Liturgy is usually celebrated on the second and fourth Sunday of each month at 3:00pm. Due to holidays and other special events, the dates may change.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call
Sister Theresa Agliardi, R.S. M. at (718) 746-8531.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

God bless.

Baptism Sunday

Baptism Class

Permission letters will need to be given to those who wish to baptize their child in another church.  However, they still need to attend the Pre-Baptism Class which is required in order to give the letter of permission.
